PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the Federal Home Minister, on Friday assured a strong visa issuance policy for Indian fans who want to visit Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy early next year. He made the pledges during a meeting with a group of Sikh pilgrims from the United States. Naqvi said the PCB expected a positive response from Indian fans visiting Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. “We will maintain a special quota of tickets for Indian fans and we will try to implement the visa issuance policy smoothly,” Naqvi was quoted as saying in a newspaper.

Naqvi said the PCB would like Indian fans to visit Pakistan and watch the India-Pakistan match in Lahore.

Pakistan is scheduled to host the ICC mega event in February-March 2025, but so far the ICC has still not released the tournament schedule as they wait for confirmation on whether the Indian government would allow its team to to travel to Pakistan for the event.

The BCCI has made it clear that they must follow every policy decision of their government when it comes to visiting Pakistan.

No Indian team has traveled to Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

There have been no Test series between the two countries since 2007.
