Police treating shooting of 15-year-old in Mishawaka as an accident

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) – Police say they are now treating the shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Mishawaka earlier this week as an accident.

Officers were called around 10:45 am Wednesday to the 1000 block of Jackson Street, which is just north of Marian High School on the city’s southwest side.

Police say two or three juveniles were walking in an alley when one of them, a 15-year-old boy, was shot in the stomach.

He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive them.
