Barack Obama almost quit his career for a chance with Michelle, until she shut him down and called him ‘insignificant’

Barack Obama was willing to do whatever it took to get the attention of his current wife, Michelle Obamabefore they started dating.

Barack has shocked many after initially revealing his Mrs rejected his advances when he first showed interest in her during the Oct. 29 chat with the hosts of “The Pivot” Podcast.

The former president of the United States met Michelle in 1988 after she took a summer job in Chicago at the law firm Sidley & Austin. Michelle also worked at the law firm.

Barack retold the story of how the two met when Ryan Clark, one of the podcast hosts, asked about Barack’s courageous decision to pursue a woman who was his “supervisor at work.”

“Just for the viewers who don’t know the story,” he said. “So I’m three years older than Michelle, but I had worked as a community organizer in Chicago before I went to law school. So Michelle had gone straight from college to law school. She had graduated when I started law school and I started working at this firm as a summer associate and summer associate. And so they appointed her as my summer advisor. She didn’t supervise anything.”

To further clarify her position in relation to his. He said, “She showed me where the Xerox machine was. She showed me how to keep time sheets and took me out to lunch because they were trying to recruit me. So we do it at our own expense, so it wasn’t that difficult. I asked her out after knowing her about two weeks, and she says, no, I can’t because I’m your supervisor. I said you don’t supervise anything.’

But Barack was determined to take Michelle out on a date by any means necessary. So he came up with a solution that he hoped would address Michelle’s concerns that it would be inappropriate for her to date the person she was advising.

He said, “You know what, I’ll quit my job and you’ll go out with me.”

But to his disappointment, there was another obstacle outside of work relationships that kept Michelle from saying yes to the date.

“She said, ‘No, I won’t. I’m not focusing on men right now anyway because you’re all insignificant. ”

After a few more attempts and a barbecue event hosted by their law firm, Michelle came along.

“I was just charming,” the father of two said. ‘I’m just saying. I broke her after a few weeks.”

After the barbecue, Michelle offered to drive Barack home, after which he suggested they go to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream. That ended up being their first date, where the two even shared a kiss, and the rest is history.

“He applied that PRESSURE,” said one commentator onlinewho was shocked by Barack’s statement. “It’s a classic formula that still works to this day.”

A second said: “That man really loves his wife, you just have to respect it.”

While focusing on what he said, two others wrote, “Obama has had the juice!” and “He was about to say I broke that thing off and caught myself.”

Michelle and Barack now share two daughters Malia Obama, 26, and Sasha Obama, 23.

Earlier this month, the couple celebrated 32 years of marriage, which Michelle actually said was 10 years “couldn’t stand” Barracks.

“But from the moment we had kids, it was like, ‘where are you going and how far,’” Michelle said during a 2022 sitdown on REVOLT x Michelle Obama: The Cross-Generational Conversation. “And you start measuring… It’s like, ‘How many diapers have you changed.’ …Oh, you’re playing golf? …Oh, do you have time to play golf? How are you at the gym all the time?

The former first lady explained that their hard times came when their daughters were little because the responsibilities of parenthood began to weigh on them.

“That’s when all the measuring starts because you’re given this project and guess what, little kids… they’re terrorists,” Michelle continued. “They have demands. They don’t talk. They are poor communicators. They cry all the time. They are irrational.”

But it was a time when they both survived, and Michelle says she wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“There are times when I’m 70, he’s 30. There are times when he’s 60…40. But guess what? Ten years, we have been married for thirty years. I’d take ten bad years over thirty. It just depends on how you look at it.’
