Man gets life in prison for raping two children

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – 45-year-old Scott Jacobson of Akron has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for raping two children in his care, according to Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich.

Jacobson pleaded guilty to several charges on August 15, 2024

• Two counts of rape with sexually violent predator specifications – first-degree felonies

• 10 counts of pandering to sexual battery involving a minor – second-degree felonies

• Two counts of gross sexual imposition – 3rd degree felonies

Jacobson was designated a Level III sex offender. If Jacobson is ever released from prison, he would have to register with the local sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.

Jacobson admitted to raping two children and possessing child pornography.

Co-defendant Kristina Jacobson faces the following charges:

• rape – felony of the first degree

• two counts of illegally using a minor or disabled person in nudity-oriented material or performance – a second-degree felony

• Gross sexual imposition – a felony of the third degree

Jacobson has a status hearing scheduled for December 18.
