Scott Jacobson of Akron sentenced to life in prison without parole for raping two children

AKRONOhio (WJW) – A man who admitted to raping two children in his care and possessing child pornography was sentenced to life in prison without parole, Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced this on Friday.

Scott R. Jacobson, 45, of Akron, pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to two counts of rape with a sexually violent predator specification — to which he was also found guilty — 10 counts of pandering to a sexual battery involving a minor, and two cases of gross sexual imposition.

Jacobson was also considered a Level III sex offender, the highest level.

Similar rape and child pornography charges are still pending against the co-defendant in the case, Kristina L. Jacobson, 38, also of Akron.

Kristina has pleaded not guilty. Court records show she was placed under house arrest in July and ordered not to have contact with the victims. Her bond was later revoked and a bench warrant was issued.

The judge has now ordered a competency assessment for Kristina, according to the court documents. A status hearing on the results is scheduled for December 18.

According to the complaint, both victims were under the age of 13.

The indictment states that the offenses occurred between December 2011 and December 2015, and between April 2024 and May 2024.
