Notre Dame fans are reacting to the major update to the 2025 football schedule

Irish fans are reacting to massive news about the fixture that will define the 2025 season

Visitors to the Always Irish show reacted Friday morning to the breaking news that Notre Dame will open the 2025 season in Miami in a showdown with the Hurricanes. The front half of the 2025 list is now full of challenging games. The Irish won’t have an easy start to the season.

Callers discussed whether Notre Dame should look to the portal for a QB with experience heading into next year’s tough schedule, or instead, whether it’s time to commit and invest in a young internal player to go along with and build around. The Irish’s 2025 playoff chances will depend heavily on what happens in September and Notre Dame must be ready for the challenge.

Notre Dame’s November is full of intrigue and interest

Irish fans are planning a stress-free weekend of football watching before Notre Dame returns to action against FSU next weekend. The hope is that Notre Dame can continue to move in the right direction as the playoff pressure mounts during the final four-game stretch, starting with the Seminoles.

Irish fans are also looking forward to next Tuesday, the first unveiling of the 2024 CFP rankings. This will be the first chance to find out exactly what the committee thinks of Notre Dame’s resume. We’re about to find out just how valuable Texas A&M’s win is and, on the other hand, how punishing the loss to NIU is and was.
