The pastor's wife has been arrested in connection with his husband's death after he was killed in Africa, the church says

DETROIT LAKES, MN (KVLY/Gray News) – A Minnesota church is in disbelief after the former pastor’s wife was arrested in connection with his “violent” death in Africa.

On October 25, 44-year-old Beau Shroyer was killed while on a mission trip to Angola with his wife and their five children. Lakes Area Vineyard Church announced.

Shroyer was a former pastor at the church, but he moved his family to Angola three years ago to become a missionary with SIM USA.

The church announced that Jackie Shroyer had been arrested, but provided no further details.

A State Department representative confirmed the death of a U.S. citizen and said he was aware of reports of a U.S. citizen being held in Angola.

However, they did not share any other information.
