Kamal Haasan’s elder brother, filmmaker Charuhasan, undergoes surgery after fall before Diwali, daughter shares update

Veteran actor-director Charuhasan, elder brother of Kamal Haasan and father of actor Suhasini Hasan, was hospitalized after a fall just before Diwali. Suhasini shared updates about her father’s health via Instagram. She posted several photos and videos showing their Diwali being spent in the hospital emergency room.

In a video, Suhasini is seen talking to Charuhasan and asking him to share a message for his wife before he goes into surgery. Charuhasan reassured his family by saying, “I am fine. I’ll come back and see you. I’m ready for the operation. It’ll be fine.’

Alongside the video, Suhasini wrote, “Midnight before Deepavali we had fallen. Our Deepavali was in a state of emergency. But we are all ready for surgery.” She later wrote in the comments section: “All those who have expressed their concerns. The operation was successful. He is doing well.”

R Madhavan commented on the post and wrote, “He is such a fighter…will be back home and normal in no time.” Kushboo Sundar said, “He is the strongest man I have ever known. His positive vibes are unapologetically contagious. He will be back safe and sound very soon.”

The actor’s sudden hospitalization led to an outpouring of support from fans and the film fraternity, with actors Laila, Rahman, Khushbu and Madhavan sending wishes for a speedy recovery.
