Durham: Police officer injured while chasing burglary suspect’s car

According to police, the car had no lights on and was driving at high speed on the wrong side of the road at some points.

The ‘tactical contact’ consisted of hitting the vehicle to stop it.

The driver, 21, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop and not having insurance.

The passenger, 25, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Both remain in police custody.

Police continue to search for two men who fled the scene.

Police have not released any further details about the officer’s injuries.
