A clever restaurateur has shown off the impressive loot he got from one Too good to go bag at Toby Carvery, and social media users say they are “jealous”. The the world’s largest marketplace for excess food, Too Good To Go pairs dining options with diners eager to save money and reduce food waste.

People can buy mystery bags containing food items that would otherwise go to waste, meaning you can pick up some real bargains using the app. And TikTok user @lifeatgully couldn’t wait to share his bargain experience after grabbing a Too Good To Go bag from Toby Carvery in Loughborough – for just £2.79.

In his video, he shared that what he found was advertised as a “breakfast surprise bag.” He realized there was actually a breakfast buffet when he entered the popular pub chain. One of the employees explained how they were going to fill the mystery box with buffet items.

When he was handed the box, he took it outside and opened it while sitting on a wall in the parking lot, unable to wait to find out what was inside. And the content seemed worth it. He revealed many of the breakfast treats, including eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage and mushrooms. His only complaint was that it “seemed to have more fat than the actual musical”.

He asked people to say whether they thought it was worth it at £2.79. “That’s way bigger and better than what I had when I got one a few days ago,” said one. Another wrote: “Oosh that looks good, beats my Weetabix.”

A third commenter said they were “jealous” of the haul, while several others called it a “good deal.” Another said: “I would have eaten that with my fingers if I didn’t have cutlery!”
