Boy found wandering alone in Atlanta on Halloween identified, police say

A young boy found roaming the streets of Atlanta on Halloween night has been identified and his parents have been located, police say.

Atlanta police have not disclosed how the nonverbal 4-year-old boy ended up on Briar Glen Lane, not far from Mount Gilead Road, in southwest Atlanta. A couple saw the child walking in the middle of the street on Thursday around 10:50 p.m.

(Atlanta Police Department)

FOX 5 was there as Atlanta Police uniform officers tried to make contact with the residents of a home on Briar Ridge Way. Officers confirmed their response was related to the wandering child, but provided no further comment.

The search ended around 1 p.m. Friday after the family was located.

Police did not provide an explanation for what happened to cause the child to wander the streets, nor did they say whether charges would be filed. They would only say that the investigation is still active.
