Andhra Pradesh: 3-year-old girl allegedly raped and murdered by relative; “Are they human,” asks Naidu | Latest news India

A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her close relative in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday, news agency ANI reported.

Police said the 22-year-old man allegedly lured the victim by offering chocolates and took her to a nearby field to rape her. He also allegedly killed the girl and buried her body in the field in an attempt to destroy evidence, police added.

The child’s parents filed a missing person report with the police, stating that they had last seen their daughter with the suspect.

Tirupati Superintendent of Police Subbarayudu said the accused was arrested and the victim’s body was sent to Puttur Government Hospital for post-mortem.

The man also confessed to the facts after questioning by the police. “He was behaving suspiciously. When we questioned him, he confessed to the crime. He said he took her to an open area near the school and sexually assaulted her. He then killed and buried her body in the field,” the SP said NDTV report.

The heinous act has sent shockwaves through the community, leading to outrage and calls for justice.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned of strict action against those committing atrocities against women. “There are some villains in society. Terrible people. Is it people or animals who rape four-year-olds? If the law allows it, a few should be hung in the middle of the road. Only then will they be afraid,” Naidu said.

The Prime Minister also promised to take steps to create fear among criminals that the day they commit such crimes will be their “last”.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Anita expressed her deep shock and condemned the crime. She also said the state government would ensure justice for the victim and also fully support the police investigation. The minister also commended the police for their swift action in arresting the suspects within hours, demonstrating their efficiency.
