Charley Hull: English golfer holds on to win European Tour event in Riyadh

Charley Hull shot a six-under final round 66 to win the Aramco Team Series event in Riyadh – her first victory on the European Tour since 2021.

The 28-year-old Hull started the third and final round two strokes behind Pia Babnik of Slovenia, but five birdies in the first seven holes pushed her into a lead that she was able to hold as she won by three shots.

Hull – ranked 15th in the world – was carded at 198 to finish at 18 under, with Nicole Broch Estrup three places behind and Babnik in third after a precious round of 73.

Fatima Fernandez Cano, who had a birdie putt for a record round of 61 on Friday, followed with a 73 to finish in a tie for fourth place.

Meanwhile, the third round of the LPGA’s Toto Japan Classic was canceled on Saturday due to heavy rain caused by Typhoon Kong-rey in Shiga.

The event will be shortened to 54 holes, with the final round on Sunday. Japan’s Hana Wakimoto is in the lead with -13.
