Two injured in Okeechobee Park shooting after argument escalates

After a heated argument early Saturday morning, gunfire broke out in Okeechobee, injuring two people, officers said.

The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) stated that they received a report of gunshots after an argument between two people turned violent.

According to officials, the shooting occurred in the Douglas Brown Park area, located off Northeast 13th Avenue.

OCSO reported that both people were transported to Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where they are now in stable condition.

The report notes that there is no ongoing threat and that the shooting was an isolated incident.
