The Liam Lawson and Sergio Perez rival on the track continued this morning in Brazil, with the Mexican denying the Racing Bulls driver a Formula 1 point late in the sprint race.

Perez, who could that be? replaced by Lawson at Red Bull next year he passed Lawson with four laps to go to take eighth place.

Lawson started the race eighth and held that spot until lap 20, when a surging Perez, starting back in 13th, made his move. The virtual safety car was needed shortly afterwards when Nico Hulkenberg went off track, denying Lawson the chance to regain eighth place.

It is yet another chapter in the rivalry between Lawson and Perez, after the Red Bull driver called Lawson an ‘idiot’ during last week’s Mexican Grand Prix, which was followed by the Kiwi pulling the finger after a passing move, which he later made apologized for.

Oscar Piastri handed the win to McLaren teammate Lando Norris after team orders. While Max Verstappen finished third, Norris reduced the Red Bull driver’s lead at the top of the championship to 45 points in tomorrow morning’s feature race.
