1 dead, 1 injured in Eau Claire shooting

EAU CLAIRE, Mich. (WNDU) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Eau Claire.

Officers were called to the intersection of Main Street and Elm Street just before 12:45 p.m.

When they arrived, they said they found two male victims. One of them was unresponsive and had life-threatening injuries, while the other had non-life-threatening injuries.

Both victims were taken to hospital, where one of them later died. That victim has not been identified at this time.

The police say they were able to quickly identify the suspect with the help of witnesses. That individual was taken into custody and is being held in the Berrien County Jail on multiple charges.

According to police, the identity of the suspect will only be determined after they are arraigned.
