Pennsylvania man accused of killing his child’s mother, grandmother – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Pennsylvania man is facing several charges, including two counts of first-degree murder breaking into a New Jersey home and killing his child’s mother and grandmother earlier this week.

Junior Edwards, 37, of Lansdowne, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary armed with a firearm, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon of a weapon. purpose, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors said the investigation began just after 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, after officers with the Willingboro Township Police Department were called to the first block of Harrington Circle in the Hawthorne Park section of Willingboro Township for a report of a burglary in progress.

After entering the home, prosecutors said officers discovered the bodies of Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54, in an upstairs bedroom. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to prosecutors, an investigation revealed that entry was gained through a first-floor window that Edwards broke open. A gun believed to have been used in the murders was discovered outside the home.

The investigation also revealed that Edwards and Catherine Nunez shared an 8-year-old son, according to prosecutors. The child was present in the home during the shooting, but was not injured.

Autopsies performed by Dr. Burlington County Medical Examiner Ian Hood determined the cause of death for both victims was multiple gunshot wounds, prosecutors said.
