Passengers robbed at gunpoint after offering a ride through Uber

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Police say several people were robbed at gunpoint after an Uber ride last night around 9 p.m.

According to the police report, a white man offered the victims a ride via Uber from Kentucky to Indiana.

Officials say upon arrival, the driver pointed a gun at the victims and demanded that one of them “give him his money.”

The victim allegedly gave the suspect an estimated $2,200 before leaving the scene.

Officers could not find the suspect upon arrival.

The investigation is still ongoing.
