Woman in critical condition after car accident on highway 15 in St-Jérôme

A woman is in critical condition after she lost control of her vehicle and fell into a body of water on Highway 15 in St-Jérôme on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec said emergency services were first alerted to what had happened at 1:45 p.m. The woman’s vehicle left the highway at mile 43 while traveling southbound.

“The driver lost control of the vehicle before it ended up in the water,” the spokesperson said. “The woman, in her 70s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. We fear for her life. She was alone in the car.”

SQ investigators have been appointed to try to determine what caused the accident.
