King Charles III has reportedly severed financial ties with his brother Prince Andreas.

In his updated biography, titled Charles III: new king. New Court. The inner storyroyal scribe Robert Hardman alleged that Charles, 75, had ordered the Keeper of the Privy Purse, or the monarchy’s chief financial officer, to withdraw his brother’s annual personal allowance, which reportedly amounted to $1 million, according to the Daily mail.

This is the latest development in the king’s dwindling relationship with his brother, as Andrew has fought to keep his stay in the Royal Lodgealthough he had reportedly failed to pay the $503,000 annual cost of maintaining the $37 million mansion.

Andrew was stripped of his royal titles in January 2022 by his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. “With the approval and consent of the Queen, the military ties and royal patronages of the Duke of York have been returned to the Queen,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement at the time. “The Duke of York will continue to have no public duties and is defending this cause as a private citizen.”

Charles has never spoken out publicly about the allegations against his younger brother.
