KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Two people were injured during a crash involving a dozen people on I-435 near Kansas Speedway.

The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that on Friday, November 1, around 9:30 p.m., emergency services were called to the area of I-435 and State Ave., near Kansas Speedway, for reports of a two-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found Judith L. Boris, 43, of Kansas City, Missouri, driving her 1998 Ford passenger van south into the driveway when she encountered a vehicle that had been involved in a separate collision.

Investigators noted that Boris attempted to avoid the crashed vehicle but struck a 2016 Honda SUV driven by Elancieux Feneme, 53, of Independence, from behind.

Emergency services indicated that Feneme had gone to the University of Kansas Medical Center with probably minor injuries. Boris also reportedly suffered minor injuries in the collision, but refused transport to a nearby hospital. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

Law enforcement officials said the other 10 people in Boris’ vehicle escaped the crash without injury, even though none of them were wearing a seat belt at the time.
