Kolkata: Following the disturbing rape and murder of the second-year medical student at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, junior doctors are demanding strict action from the CBI. They call for the death penalty for those responsible for this heinous crime.

Dr. Rajdeep, a representative of the junior doctors, stressed the need for a thorough investigation. “We want the CBI to take action against everyone involved in this rape and murder. The death penalty must be imposed on all suspects,” he declared, underscoring the widespread anger and calls for justice within the medical community.

He urged the CBI to prepare a detailed charge sheet that includes all relevant names, even those that may not have been mentioned initially. “A strong charge sheet should be prepared against those whose names are not included in the charge sheet.”

As November 9th approaches, 90 days after the tragic incident, Dr. Rajdeep that the protests will continue until justice is achieved for the victim. “On November 9, we will showcase all the major events that have happened in this case so far. I want to say that we will not stop; the protest will continue,” he asserted.

Earlier, on October 22, junior doctors had gone on a hunger strike to demand justice in the RG Kar Medical College case. This protest ended after a two-hour meeting with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Nabanna State Secretariat.

The tragedy occurred on August 9, when the second-year medical student was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The shocking nature of the incident has led to widespread protests across West Bengal, with doctors from across the country expressing solidarity with the junior doctors in Calcutta.
