Bradley Beal’s final status revealed for Phoenix Suns vs Portland Trail Blazers

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns will see Bradley Beal – who was questionable tonight due to an elbow injury – return to action against the Portland Trail Blazers.

This was confirmed by new Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer during his pre-game press conference.

Beal – who can also start – has missed two games due to the injury.

Earlier today, Beal spoke to reporters at shootaround and said he was scheduled to play tonight against Portland.

“That’s the plan,” Beal told Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic.

“It’s the mental part of it. You want to make sure you don’t have any setbacks when you decide to go back out.

The Suns are 4-1 thanks to strong starts from players like star Devin Booker and rookie Ryan Dunn.

Dunn has played extremely well in his two starting stints in place of Beal, and should remain a strong option off the bench until he is needed in the starting lineup again.

Under Budenholzer, Phoenix is slowly (and successfully) molding into their new identity: a team that clears the floor and shoots a good number of three-point attempts.

The Suns have managed to overcome multiple deficits of more than 20 points in wins over both Los Angeles teams to start the year.

With Phoenix a double-digit favorite, it would be a surprise if the Suns had to overcome a significant disadvantage again — though it’s fair to expect the unexpected in the NBA.

Beal was the only injured player on Phoenix’s report that came in Saturday. Josh Okogie (hamstring) makes his debut in the regular season tonight.

Opening tip is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM local time at the Footprint Center.
