Teen shot dead near officer involved shooting in Flint

FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Flint on Saturday evening, according to Michigan State Police.

That happened on Saturday around 6:30 PM.

MSP said Troopers assigned to the Flint Post were patrolling the area of Essex St. and Pasadena Ave. and confronted an armed suspect.

MSP said the boy ran and was shot. A loaded handgun was found at the scene.

The troopers involved have been placed on administrative leave and an investigation is underway.
