Kadoma mbinga was shot dead in cold blood by hitmen as he parked his Toyota Land Cruiser at home

The death of prominent Kadoma pharmacist and entrepreneur, Elison Tambudza, has become the talk of the town in Kadoma. The 67-year-old was shot dead at his home, 2216 Jacaranda Drive, Westview, Kadoma, on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery, leaving residents and law enforcement struggling to find answers.

The incident happened when Tambudza was returning home in his white Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number ACM0498. An armed security guard employed by Amark Security (Pvt) Limited, stationed at the premises, spotted two unidentified men climbing the perimeter wall. Before he could intervene, the attackers overpowered the guard and tied his hands with shoelaces. They interrogated him and demanded information about Tambudza’s usual arrival time.

A police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, narrated the events: “While the suspected robbers were interrogating the security guard, Tambudza arrived at the gate…one of the accused proceeded to open the gate. Without noticing anything suspicious, Tambudza drove straight to the carport, but as he did so, the security guard managed to free himself, evaded the other suspect watching over him and rushed to the neighbors for help. The guard, who later became an informant, said he heard two gunshots as he sought reinforcement from the neighbors.

The help from the neighbors came too late. When they reached Tambudza’s carport, they discovered his lifeless body, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. The scene was immediately secured and police were alerted.

Adding to the astonishment, the police investigation revealed that Tambudza’s valuables were untouched. His vehicle, with its keys, his cellphones and any cash he had on him remained undisturbed. This detail casts doubt on a simple robbery motive and deepens the mystery surrounding the murder.

Kadoma Central Police and Homicide Detectives responded quickly, processed the crime scene and transported Tambudza’s body to Kadoma General Hospital for post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing and detectives are trying to determine a clear motive for the murder.

The security guard, who managed to escape his captors and alert neighbors, has been arrested and is currently assisting police in their investigation. His account of events, including the interrogation of the attackers and his subsequent escape, is a crucial part of the ongoing investigation. Police are investigating all possibilities, including the possibility of a targeted attack, given the lack of any apparent robbery motive.
