Hispanic Center celebrates Day of the Dead

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -The Hispanic Center held a celebration on Saturday evening, November 2, in honor of Día De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead.

Day of the Dead is a celebration of life for loved ones who have passed away and they are honored with memory and joy, and with all the things they loved.

In the Embassy Suites there was a beautiful party, people were dressed up, some with face paint, and filled with a rich Spanish tradition.

Event director Gina Gomez says it’s a great way to bring the community together.

“We are bringing the community together to celebrate this special event for Mexican culture, but it also means funding for the Spanish-language center,” Gomez said. “Profits from this event will go towards the programs and services we provide for the Hispanic community in Northeast Arkansas. and in the state.”

During the event there was a dance floor and people took lots of pictures and enjoyed the evening.
