Kannada filmmaker Guruprasad dies by suicide in Bengaluru; decomposed body found days later: Report | Bengaluru

Kannada film director Guruprasad, 52, known for his critically acclaimed works like Mata, Eddelu ManjunathaAnd Especially for the directorwas reportedly found dead in his apartment in Madanayakanahalli, Bengaluru.

Police are investigating to confirm the time and circumstances of his death.

According to Asianet Newsneighbors alerted police after noticing a foul odor coming from his home. After investigating, authorities found Guruprasad hanging from a ceiling fan, indicating that he took his own life several days earlier.

Reports indicate that Guruprasad may have been under pressure from creditors, which may have caused him to commit suicide. The director, who recently remarried, has also faced financial problems, including recent allegations related to unpaid purchases.

Guruprasad, apart from his directorial work, had acted in several films and was in the middle of his latest project, Breathewhich was in production at the time of his death.

This spike in interest followed the news that Kannada filmmaker Guruprasad’s body was found in his apartment in Bengaluru.
