Former face of Blain's Farm & Fleet commercials returns for milestone birthday

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – For less than two decades, Steve Humphreys was a regular in Blain’s Farm and Fleet commercials and the former face of the store has since moved to Texas, but his kids are giving him a reason to to come home.

He recently turned 70, so his children surprised him with a birthday party at Loves Park City Hall and Steve reconnected with old friends and reminisced about his time at Farm & Fleet.

A producer at the store saw him in a play and asked him to make a commercial. Steve says he was told he would never advertise for them again because Farm & Fleet doesn’t want anyone to be the face of the franchise, but they kept calling him and he would be a regular for almost twenty years.

“I did commercials for them for 17-19 years. Great group. Great people,” says Humphreys. “I saw a lot of family, people we went to church with, people we were at the Starlight Theater with and a lot of old schoolmates. It’s very moving to know that people at least think about you enough to come visit.”
