The incident took place on Saturday evening after former DSP Ashok Sharma, a cancer patient, asked the two sisters to stop honking their car a day earlier, a police officer said, adding that Sharma escaped with minor injuries in the attack.

Both Sharma and two sisters Chhavi Jain and Bhavya Jain are residents of Anekant Apartments society, the officer said.

There was high drama when police were called after the two women allegedly reacted aggressively. Later, the suspects, who tried to flee in their car, were arrested after a chase, police said.

“It is alleged that both sisters forcibly entered Sharma’s house on Saturday and confronted him and his family at knifepoint, causing a disturbance that attracted neighbors to the scene. Some residents who tried to intervene also suffered minor injuries.” said the officer.

Police said that after the confrontation, the sisters tried to flee in their vehicle, allegedly hitting a scooter rider and dragging him for several meters, injuring one of the police officers.

“They were chased from Noida and arrested. We have started further investigation into the matter,” the officer said.

A total of four FIRs have been registered at New Ashok Nagar police station against the two accused on the basis of complaints filed by former DSP Sharma, his daughter Reena, head constable Sunil and scooter rider Joginder, police said.

The two sisters have been booked under different sections of BNS, including 109, 115, 126, 221 and 132, the officer said.

Sources said both sisters have a history of confrontational behavior, including an alleged incident where they took a security guard hostage a few months ago.

The two sisters were already charged in September in a case in which NBW proceedings are underway against them.

Investigation in all cases is underway under ACP Kalyanpuri, police said.
