Kerala HC refuses to interfere in the probe into the case against the school authorities

The Kerala High Court has refused to intervene in the probe into cases registered against the managing director and others of Peace International Public Schools, along with three Mumbai-based publishers, for allegedly including common study materials in their curriculum.

The court issued the order while disposing of petitions filed by M. Muhammed Akbar, Managing Director, M.A. Muhammed Asharaf, Chairman, and other school officials, along with three individual textbook publishers, in a bid to resolve the cases filed in 2016 by the Palarivattom police were registered to destroy. in Ernakulam, Kattoor police in Thrissur and Kottiyam police in Kollam against them. The charges allege that some parts of the teaching materials used in the pre-primary and senior pre-schools violate the provisions of Section 153A of the IPC, which deals with promoting enmity between different groups, religions or races.

The court said that this was not a case that needs to be quashed under Section 482 of the CrPC and added that the court did not have to interfere with the investigation in these cases. “Let the investigation continue in accordance with the law,” it said.

The court said that the contentions of the petitioners could be raised by the investigating officer during the investigation. It was clarified that petitioners should not face harassment and that the investigation should be completed as soon as possible in accordance with the law.
