First warning weather: cold on Sunday, but a warm front is approaching

ROCHESTER, NY — It’s a cold Sunday morning, but temperatures should reach 50 degrees by afternoon, with dry air and mostly clear skies thanks to a high-pressure system overhead.

A warm front will move into our region on Monday, bringing showers from the afternoon with high temperatures around 60 degrees. This warming trend will continue through Wednesday, meaning Tuesday our temperatures will peak around near-record warmth levels.

The record for Tuesday is 77 degrees, set in 2022, and the current forecast calls for 76 degrees. Don’t be surprised if we surpass that, especially if that southwest wind is strong enough.

Wednesday morning will be mild but rainy as the cold front comes through. The rain will continue until Wednesday evening. After possible showers on Thursday morning, it looks mild and mostly sunny for the rest of the week.
