Two women were injured after falling from a mountain roller coaster

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. (KY3/Gray News) – Authorities say two women were injured after falling from a mountain roller coaster ride.

Jim Ferguson of the Western Taney County Fire Protection District said firefighters were called to Shepherd of the Hills near Branson, Missouri, around 6 p.m.

Ferguson said two women suffered moderate injuries after falling from a cart on the Copperhead Mountain Coaster. The women were taken to hospital.

The Missouri Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the incident.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the women were in their 50s and fell from the cart around a bend about six feet above the ground.

The ride is closed and will not be released until officials complete their investigation.

According to Shepherd of the Hills, the Copperhead Mountain Coaster is a 1,400-meter-long mountain roller coaster website.
