Pedestrian hit by vehicle seriously injured in Val-des-Sources

VAL-DES-SOURCES – A pedestrian was in critical condition Sunday after being struck by a vehicle in the Eastern Townships community of Val-des-Sources on Saturday evening, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Morin Blvd at approximately 7 p.m. and 3rd Ave. for a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his forties, was seriously injured. He was taken to hospital and authorities feared for his life, the SQ said.

According to initial information gathered by police, the pedestrian was struck while crossing by a vehicle traveling south on Morin Blvd.

An accident reconstruction specialist was sent to analyze the scene to try to understand the causes and circumstances of the event.
