Man charged after woman found dies from injuries near Portage Place

Winnipeg police arrested and charged a man in connection with a murder on Oct. 31.

On Thursday, police responded to reports of an unconscious woman with life-threatening injuries in the first hundredth block of The Promenade, just behind the Portage Place shopping center.

The 28-year-old woman, known as Briannah Clowes, was taken to hospital where she died.

On Sunday, officers arrested 32-year-old John Kennedy for manslaughter. He was taken into custody.

According to police, the victim and suspect were known to each other.
