Thane, Nov 3 (PTI) A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl in Maharashtra’s Thane district, an official said on Sunday.

The alleged crime was committed last month on the premises of a residential complex in Ulhasnagar area, where the suspect and the child’s father work as security guards.

While the teenager lives elsewhere, the girl and her parents live on the society premises, the official said.

Quoting the FIR, the official said the teenager went to the girl’s house when she was alone and sexually assaulted her. Hearing her screams, people in the area rushed to her house and found it locked from inside.

Locals then handed the teenager over to police, the official said, adding that he was sent to a remand home. PTI COR NO
