Parts of the 110 Freeway are closed after a deadly tanker truck crash spilled hundreds of gallons of jet fuel onto the road

One person was killed and two others were injured when a truck rolled over following a multi-car crash on the 110 Freeway Saturday evening. All northbound lanes between Manchester Avenue and the 105 are closed for investigation and cleanup. The 110 and 105 connector are also closed.

The backstory: The multi-car accident was reported at 10.55pm on Saturday evening, with a tanker truck ending up on its side. The truck was carrying an estimated 8,000 gallons of jet fuel, and fire officials said between 500 and 1,000 gallons were spilled on the road.

The two people injured in the accident suffered minor injuries. According to fire officials, the tanker driver was reportedly transported to the hospital by a private vehicle and had no contact with the LA Fire Department.

What’s next: There is currently no timeline for reopening the highway while cleanup efforts continue, according to fire officials.
