One dead after shooting in Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man died in the hospital after a shooting in Uptown on Saturday.

Shortly before 10 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call on South Church Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The ambulance service arrived on the scene and took the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No suspects have been identified at this time.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
