Daughter accused of fatally stabbing 72-year-old mother in Greater Cincinnati neighborhood

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) – A Middletown woman was accused of stabbing her 72-year-old mother multiple times.

Police were called to the scene of the crash on 14th Avenue just before 11:30 Wednesday evening.

Mekeshia Lattimore, 44, was arrested in the house and charged with murder.

Doris Williams and her son Marcus knew 72-year-old Minnie Lewis the entire time she lived in the house on 14th Avenue.

They said Lewis was the kind of neighbor who showed her kindness during a difficult time.

“When my mother passed away, she was so generous. She brought things here to eat when my mother passed away,” said longtime neighbor Doris. “She was that nice.”

Doris has lived in the neighborhood for over thirty years.

She said it was surprising that something so violent happened on her street.

She remembered that there were many police cars, a fire truck and an ambulance next to the door.

“I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I had seen her daughter before, and she was standing outside right before it even happened. And I looked at her, she didn’t say anything, so I went back inside the house,” said Doris.

She said that her daughter went to school with the suspect.

Lewis also has a son, but the family declined to comment.

“We will really miss her. It really crushed my heart to know she had to die like that. I won’t be used to seeing her come in and out of the house,” Doris said.

Lattimore was booked into the Middletown City Jail.

The police cannot say anything about a possible motive for the stabbing.
