Winnsboro man killed in single-vehicle crash in Richland Parish

MANGHAM, La. (KNOE) – Shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 3, Louisiana State Police began an investigation into a single-vehicle crash.

According to LSP, the crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 132 west of Louisiana Highway 576. The crash claimed the life of 44-year-old Jarrod Flores of Winnsboro.

LSP’s investigation revealed that Flores was driving eastbound on Louisiana Highway 132, driving a 2017 Toyota 4Runner, when the Toyota ran off the side of the road, struck a tree and overturned. Flores was pronounced dead at the scene.

Louisiana State Police say Flores was not wearing his seat belt, but it is unclear if disability is a factor.

The crash is still under investigation.

Troopers want to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive disturbed, tired or distracted. Follow all traffic rules and ensure that each occupant is properly restrained. While not all accidents are survivable, taking simple precautions like these can often mean the difference between life and death.
