Martha Stewart And Ina Garden are two of today’s most beloved celebrity chefs — and they were once even friends. However, the ’90s house stars had a falling out in the early 2000s, and the reason depends on who you ask.

On October 1, 2024, Ina Garten released her long-awaited memoir, Be ready when luck strikes. In it, the 76-year-old chef describes the reason for the end of her friendship with Martha as something as simple as a move out of state. In a conversation with Andy Cohen on Bravo’s Watch what’s happening liveHowever, Martha says that is not the case.

During the episode, Andy asked Martha if she had read Ina’s new memoir and she admitted to reading parts of it. “You read the part about yourself,” he said jokingly and she confirmed it.

When Martha was asked what she thought, she said coolly, “She can write whatever she wants.”

In the memoir, Ina reported that she and Martha lost contact when she moved to Connecticut and that Martha remained in New York. best friend of Martha, Snoop Doggwho was also present in the episode chimed in, commenting, “That’s lame. Martha doesn’t argue with people.’

And Martha confirmed it. The way she sees it, Ina stopped talking to her after she went to prison.

Martha was famously convicted of felony charges in 2004 over a high-level stock trading case. She served five months in jail and then was on probation for two years.

During the episode, Martha didn’t seem bothered by the subject at all. Maybe it’s because you have a new famous BFF to hang out with. “See, that’s when I stepped in: real friends,” Snoop said, referring to the beginning of their friendshipwhich came to fruition in 2008.

While fans were excited about the reason that came straight from Martha’s mouth, they were even happier with the way Snoop supported her on live TV and the way she stood unwavering in her truth. “The way Snoop is so willing to defend her with the ‘what did she say.’ He says, ‘Not too much on my girl. Who should I hang out with?’” one fan wrote. “Martha doesn’t argue with people.” Love some Snoop for me,” another fan commented. “Martha and Snoop are not a TV friendship; that’s a real friendship,” someone else commented. “Her authenticity is very tasteful and sympathetic. “…after I went to jail.” She said that without an ounce of self-pity. Respect,” another fan wrote. “I love that she owns ‘When I Went to Prison.’ This is amazing,” someone else commented.
