TAYLORSVILLE – A car struck a wall near a Taylorsville cemetery, killing the driver and injuring two others just before midnight Saturday.

Sergeant Ryan Carver of the Taylorsville Police Department said the single-vehicle crash occurred when the vehicle left the road near 4567 S. Redwood Road, struck a wall and ended up in the cemetery at 11:47 p.m. The two passengers – a man and a woman – were turned away and taken to a hospital.

The woman driving the car died. Her name has not yet been released.

Police have not yet determined the cause of the accident.

Carver advised motorists to pay close attention while driving and said seat belts prevent ejection.
