2 seriously injured after early morning rollover collision south of Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, Mo. (KCTV) – Two men were seriously injured this weekend after an early morning rollover crash on a rural Missouri highway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, November 3, emergency services were called to the area of Highway 7 and Elliot Rd., south of Pleasant Hill, for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 20-year-old Smithton man driving his 2012 Ford F-250 south on the highway when he left the road for an unknown reason.

State Troopers said the pickup struck a guardrail sign and rolled over as it drove off the highway. The driver and his 20-year-old Sedalia passenger were both taken to Research Hospital in Kansas City with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency officials noted that it is still unknown whether any of the occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. As a result, the pickup was declared a total loss. No further information has been released.
