More than 900 pounds of marijuana found in Plumas County traffic stop; suspects fled

Police are looking for suspects after more than 900 pounds were found during a traffic stop in Plumas County.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says officers stopped a Ford van traveling at a high rate of speed along Highway 89 near Willow Way in Greenville on October 22. As officers approached, both the driver and passenger ran into the nearby woods on foot.

Inside the van, officials said officers found approximately 974 pounds of processed marijuana.

The incident remains under investigation with assistance from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. CHP says they are working to locate those involved.
