The Pakistan Coast Guard has seized 1,292 kg of high-grade drugs (hashish) worth around USD 21.6 million in a major anti-smuggling operation in Balochistan’s Gwadar district.

Based on intelligence reports, officers carried out the raid in the Kumb area, where they discovered the large cache hidden in bushes, according to the Coast Guard spokesman.

The operation revealed that the hashish was likely intended to be smuggled within or outside Pakistan, underscoring the strategic role of Balochistan’s coastline on smuggling routes.

The Coast Guards said they remain steadfast in their commitment to reducing drug trafficking activities, which pose a significant threat to national security.

Drug seizures along Pakistan’s coast have increased as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle smuggling networks.

The Pakistan Coast Guard, with the support of intelligence agencies, continues to conduct regular operations to intercept narcotics destined for both local and international markets.
