Lenexa, Kansas suspect accused of shooting neighbor’s wife, son and dog

In an otherwise peaceful neighborhood, a deadly rampage has shocked the community and raised questions about motives beyond the description of “domestic violence.”

According to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, 53-year-old Todd Michael Donovan has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after he allegedly shot and killed his wife, 52-year-old Sheila Donovan, and his son, 22. year-old Tyler Donovan, on Friday, November 1.

“Donovan also faces one count of animal cruelty after investigators say he shot and killed his neighbor’s dog that same night.”

“Meanwhile, people in the neighborhood are still stunned by the crime; not only by the double murder, but also by the apparently unrelated murder of a neighbor’s dog.

“Donovan’s first court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 1:30 p.m. He is being held on a $2 million bond.”
