New Delhi: Following a food safety regulator’s raid on Zomato’s Hyperpure warehouse in Hyderabad, 90 packets of mushrooms labeled “future packing date” were reportedly found, company CEO Deepinder Goyal on Monday said this was due to a “manual typographical error on the part of the supplier”. .

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) team had identified 90 packets of such mushrooms with incorrect packing dates. Zomato’s Hyperpure is a business-to-business (B2B) vertical.


In a post on social media platform

“This is not common and was caused by a manual typo on the supplier’s side. However, the supplier in question has been removed from our database. At Hyperpure, we have strict internal guidelines and technical systems that helped our teams identify this error on time,” said Goyal.

Goyal further said that they are committed to maintaining food safety standards in the industry and aim not to compromise on product quality at any stage of the supply chain.

“I am not sure why this small number of mushroom packs worth Rs 7,200 (from the multi-million stock in the warehouse), which would never reach the customers, is being talked about in the media, while we got an A+. rating,” says co-founder of Zomato.

Last month, the Telangana food safety commissioner had said in a post on of packaging, i.e. 30.10.2024 on the said premises.”

“Places that open directly to the outside environment without a good insect screen. House flies were observed in the building. Few food handlers were found without hair caps and aprons,” the Telangana food safety regulator said.
