Man seriously injured after argument in pub toilet in Renfrewshire

A man has been seriously injured after an incident in a cafe toilet in Renfrewshire.

The disturbance happened at around 12.30pm on October 6 in the bathroom of the Habbies Bar on New Street in Kilbarchan.

A 56-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries after falling to the ground during an altercation with another man.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley for treatment before being discharged a few days later.

Police Scotland have appealed for witnesses to help with the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Barry Gourlay, Renfrewshire CID, Police Scotland, said: “The injured man reported the incident as he left hospital a week after it happened.

“We have since made inquiries at the bar, the area and checked CCTV footage, but we are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident or has information that could assist our investigation.

“We appreciate that what happened took place in a small toilet area so there was limited access, but we would still like to hear from anyone with information.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 101 stating incident number 0865 from Sunday October 13.
