Man added to Crimestoppers ‘most wanted’ list after assault at Glasgow train station

A man has been added to Crimestoppers’ ‘most wanted’ list after an assault at a Scottish train station.

British Transport Police are still searching for a man following the attack on a woman aged 13 and over at Thornliebank train station on May 1.

An appeal has been launched to track down a man they believe is vital to their investigation, but he has not yet been identified.

The man is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, in his mid to late 20s, with short black hair and wearing a dark blue tracksuit.

His top zipper had a white and light blue pattern on the chest. The bottoms had two light blue stripes on each outside. He was also wearing a pair of gray/brown sneakers.

A statement on the Crimestoppers website reads: “British Transport Police detectives continue efforts to identify a man who may be able to assist in an ongoing investigation.

“The incident in question concerns the attack on a woman which occurred on Wednesday 1 May 2024 at Thornliebank train station in Glasgow.

“Despite previous calls in the media, the man has not yet been identified. Detectives are now seeking the assistance of Crimestoppers in identifying this individual, who is believed to be crucial to the progress of the investigation.”
