Postal carriers protest in Portland against a provisional agreement between the USPS union

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Dozens of postal workers in the Portland area called on their fellow union members to vote against a tentative agreement with the US Postal Service.

The group representing the Portland Branch 82 of the National Association of Letter Carriers gathered in front of the East Portland Post Office on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, Portland’s cycling community remembered two of its own cyclists, both of whom died in separate crashes on the same day in Northeast Portland.

They call the current contract agreement between their union’s leaders and the USPS a “slap in the face.”

They say it doesn’t do enough to protect work-life balance and tackle inflation.

The vote will take place next month.

The Postal Service said it respects the rights of its employees to express their opinions off the clock.
