Two arrested after shooting during drug deal, Rock Hill police say

Two men have been arrested after a 21-year-old was shot in the head in Rock Hill over the weekend, police said Monday.

Rock Hill police said officers and first responders found the victim on Saluda Street following a reported shooting just after 12:10 a.m. Sunday.

Two men arrived at the scene in a pickup truck and told officers that the shot victim had allegedly tried to rob them while they were in the parking lot, the police department said.

The two men were identified as 21-year-old Christopher King Boyd and 19-year-old Demetris Franklin.

RHPD said detectives learned the two men were there to sell drugs to the person who was shot, and when the victim pulled a gun, Franklin used a handgun to shoot him in the head.
